Mareen Straub
Closter Specialist, Creative Arts

Maureen is excited to join the PCDS team. She graduated from The American Musical and Dramatic Academy in Manhattan and immediately began working as a professional dancer.

Maureen has performed (as well as held the title of dance captain and assistant choreographer) in several shows on tour across the world, the USA, NYC stages, and regional and dinner theaters. Her favorite role was dancing with Broadway icons Ann Reinking and Ben Vereen. She worked with Disney and Sesame Street and can be seen as the host on an award-winning children's fitness video series called the Monkeydoos.  She played Judy Garland in a documentary series called ICONS. Portraits of Maureen starring as Judy Garland are hanging in various restaurants and galleries in New York City.

Maureen's award-winning choreography has been featured at Lincoln Center, the Kennedy Center, The World Dance Championships, IZOD center, and the Bergen PAC.

Maureen's students have been cast on Broadway, NYC Ballet, modern dance companies, music videos, TV shows, commercials, and print ads for major companies, such as Target, Uniqlo, and JCrew.

Some of Maureen's students have been accepted into prestigious institutions such as School of American Ballet in NYC, Joffrey, Alvin Ailey, Julliard, NYU Tisch, Northwestern, Michigan State, Interlochen, American Musical and Dramatic Academy, Jacob's Pillow.

Maureen hopes to cultivate a passion for the performing arts with the younger generation, the same way it was instilled in her.
