Swim Program (Closter Only)

3-Year-Olds
  • “Preschool” swim classes focus on meeting core competencies to develop efficient swimming skills and age-appropriate safety habits. Children must be potty-trained at this level.  Campers will first develop the following aquatic techniques:  blowing bubbles, paddling their arms, kicking against the wall, jack-in-the-box jumps from one side of the pool to the other, and eventually bobbing their heads to submerge under the water fully.  These basic skills will assist them in the latter part of our swim program that incorporates pushing off the wall and traveling the length of the pool with arm motions and breathing techniques.
 4-Year-Olds
  • Introductory swim classes reinforce the core competencies learned in “Preschool” swim classes. The children move directly into “Stroke School,” where they learn breathing techniques while incorporating stroke movements. They work on traveling the length of the pool with assistance. Upon completing the program, children are encouraged to execute an unassisted free stroke.
