Melynda Wasserman
Closter Upper School

I have worked at Palisades since 2004. My many roles include working as an assistant teacher is the toddler, three and Pre-K classrooms, and currently as the head teacher of the Transitional three year old classroom.  I am the Health Care Provider for Palisades’ summer camp overseeing all camper health records and needs. I have a Bachelors of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education from Towson University.  I am a dedicated wife, mother, daughter, sister, and teacher.  I enjoy looking for new and exciting projects to do with my schoolchildren, so I can positively affect their lives. I enjoy spending time with my family, vacationing, cooking, or just enjoying a good old-fashioned conversation.  At Palisades  there is a supportive environment that allows me the generous opportunity to provide my students with many learning experiences that go beyond the typical reading, writing, and mathematics. I am very grateful to have the opportunity to be a part of this exceptional establishment.

At Palisades Country Day Camp, I am the Healthcare Provider.  The American Heart Association in Basic Life Support certifies me for Healthcare Providers (CPR and AED) program. The Emergency Care and Safety also certify me Institute for Standard First Aid. In addition I have bloodborne pathogen training and Concussion training.  I make sure that all accidents and incidents are attended to with tender loving care and in an appropriate manner.  I keep the records on file and up-to- date for New Jersey State regulations and for the American Camp Association.  I make sure that our camp has the accurate first aid supplies in their first aid kits for the counselors, the specialty areas, and all of our pools.
